Cardinal in Belle Ile en Mer
Our environmental commitment
Our establishment, LE CARDINAL, has been committed to a voluntary initiative since the beginning of the second half of 2025 to reduce its energy consumption, waste production and water consumption, thereby reducing its environmental footprint. This commitment has also motivated us to offer exclusively plant-based catering, thereby drastically limiting the environmental impact of livestock farming and meat consumption.
Keen to have this initiative recognised and to guarantee our customers that it is not just a self-declaration, we have committed to obtaining the European Ecolabel. The European Ecolabel was created in 1992 by the European Commission to enable consumers to identify the most environmentally friendly products and services throughout their life cycle.
The initiative is also driven by the virtuous project of constantly improving our environmental performance, for example by monitoring our consumption of water, electricity and gas, or the amount of waste produced, over a year and in relation to the number of overnight stays, and committing to reducing them, while continuing to offer the best possible service to our customers.
In addition, for the coming year, simple but important actions have been selected: selecting three new local producers for the restaurant, eliminating plastic beverage containers, and installing an additional rainwater collector.
Beyond these new actions, our commitment is long-term, with a focus on raising awareness and engaging in dialogue with our suppliers and customers. Customers are invited to fill out the questionnaire available at reception.
